Hey Garden Friends!
I’ve been wanting to start a blog exclusively for gardening for forever and looky here, I’m finally doing it! This blog will be garden “stuff” only and will be separate from my Artsy blog. Why?? Well, for several years, I’ve been following a group called, Garden Bloggers Fling. They are an annual meetup group of garden bloggers from across North America and beyond, started in Austin, TX in 2008. Pam Penick of the blog Digging, a blog I have followed for years, is one of the start up creators of the planning team for the inaugural event, which included garden tours, nursery visit, a speaker and so much more. Every year since I first started following them, I have anxiously awaited the bloggers return from their recent garden(s) destination, so I could pour over the pics they post online of the gardens they visited. Pure EYE CANDY!!! Anywaaaay, my dream is to join these garden bloggers in the future, but first I have to have a garden blog of my own that is for “gardening only”. So here ya go! First step, CHECK.
If you’re a gardener or you just like looking at garden pics, give me a follow here. I could literally chat garden stuff ALL DAY! In my garden is where I’m happiest!!!
Here’s a current pic of my garden:
Yeah, it SNEAUXED here on the Gulf Coast!!! A LOT!!!
This area is not prepared for this kind of weather, as this just doesn’t happen. Matter of fact, snowplows arrived from Indiana to help us out. The whole southern part of the state (Louisiana) has pretty much been shut down. Our roads and bridges are closed, so our businesses and schools are closed. It’s crazy! People have been sledding down the levees in New Orleans and there was ice hockey being played on Canal street. Folks were building sneauxmen and making sneaux angels. The sneauxball fights were many! I even saw where the nuns and the priests at one of the churches partook in the fun lol! Being that I’m originally from Wyoming, I know winter and I have to say, I’m not a fan, but I will say, the French Quarter did look pretty magical…..even Bourbon Street.
Here’s a pic I snagged from fb that someone took of Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral. Sooo Pretty, right??
Anyway, as for my garden…..I tried to cover what I could and I moved what I could to the greenhouse, but with the super low temps, it’ll be a crapshoot on what survives. Sigh.
In the meantime, I’m trying to hold onto these visions of my garden:
So there’s my first post. I’ll be back with more soon and I hope you’ll join me!
Peace & Plant Flowers,
Michelle
p.s. Here’s the link to my artsy blog michellelegler.blogspot.com where you'll find my newest artsy adventures or if you'd rather follow me on substack, here's my garden substack blog and my artsy substack blog
I’m trying to hit all platforms because sadly, we live in a very uncertain world. Also, because I don't want to pay for a "Like" button (are you kidding me??), please leave a comment or just a thumbs up in the comment section to let me know you were here. Thanks!!!
Your garden is always the prettiest I have ever seen. Starting to look like Butchart Gardens 😍
ReplyDeleteThank you!!!
DeleteI love all of the color!! I also adore the bee motel. My honey is more of the outdoors gardener and I do more indoor tropicals. He would flip if he saw your garden. ☺️
